Passenger Injuries

Compulsory Third Party Insurance

Whenever you pay your registration for a motor vehicle in Queensland, you pay a component towards Compulsory Third Party Insurance. This is designed to protect other people who are injured as a result of the fault of any person driving the vehicle.

If you have been involved in an accident and the passengers of the vehicle have been injured, the insurance is there to provide compensation to your passengers be they family members, friends, or others.

There is no penalty for the at-fault driver.

However, there are very significant benefits to be obtained by the passengers including:

  • Payment of all medical expenses
  • Payment of economic loss
  • Care and assistance if appropriate

We find that on occasions, family members are hesitant about making a claim, however we are happy to meet with family members and explain their rights in a confidential meeting at your home or at one of our offices.

We act on a no win no fee basis and there is no penalty for the driver. Please contact us if you have any queries concerning an accident in which you have been a passenger.
